It begins in the dead of night.
A young man breaks into a university library in New Jersey after closing. He reaches the restricted Rare Books and Special Collections floor through a freight-elevator shaft.
He finds an ancient Arabic manuscript and steals it. On his way out, the elevator becomes a deadly trap.
All night long, blood drips down the elevator shaft.
By morning, the library staff find his crushed body — and the manuscript in his blood-soaked backpack. Only part of its title is visible: Mushaf Fatimah.
